Title of the paper :
Bridging the Gender Gap: The Role of Digital Education in Women’s Empowerment
Abstract:
This research paper reviews the role of digital education in filling this gap to empower women, mainly in developing regions where traditional systems of education have been unable to bridge gender gaps. Digital education avails flexible and convenient learning opportunities through online platforms, mobile apps, and digital literacy programs that help women overcome geographical, cultural, and economic barriers. This paper therefore looks into the potential of digital education in creating a transformation within these traditional gender roles—that is, empowering women with the proper skills for them to become part and parcel of the larger society and workforce. It further points out huge challenges in implementation which would be affected by issues such as digital divides and socio-cultural resistance. It identifies strategies to overcome these barriers and promote gender equality through a review of the literature and analysis of successful models such as eLimu in Kenya and DISHA in India.
