Title of the paper :
Imagining Environmental Collapse A Study of Dystopian Climate in Oryx and Crake
Abstract:
Dystopian literature, a significant genre in literary studies, has garnered widespread attention from critics and readers across the world. Within this realm, ecocriticism examines the intricate relationship between humans and the natural world, exploring how individuals and societies interact with nature. Environmental degradation, global warming and natural hazards are inevitable consequences of the ill treatment towards nature. In the post apocalyptic world, the climate and surrounding are open to changes. Sometimes the temperature rises too high and sometimes it rains heavily. Climate fiction clifi, a subgenre of dystopian literature, specifically addresses climate change, often incorporating scientific discoveries and their implications. The paper titled, Imagining Environmental Collapse A Study of Dystopian Climate in Oryx and Crake explores the dystopian elements in Margaret Atwoods novel Oryx and Crake. The study critically examines the ecological and climatic crises depicted in the novel, emphasizing the consequences of unchecked scientific and technological advancements.
