A STUDY OF MORAL VALUES AMONG HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS OF JAMMU DISTRICT
Abstract:
Moral values plays an important role in shaping the personality of the child. Moral values are the set of principles that helps us evaluate what is good and what is bad. Moral values are the key to build good relationships with people. Moral values also earn you respect. Anything that helps us to behave properly towards others is of moral values. Anything that takes out our self and inspires us to sacrifice for the good for others or for a great cause is of spiritual value. The present study was conducted to assess the moral values among high school student. The objective of the study was to find the significant differences in attitude of high school students towards moral values on the basis of gender Male and Female. To study the significant differences in attitude of high school students towards moral values on the basis of locality Rural and Urban.To find difference in the attitude of high school students towards moral value on the basis of interactional effect of gender male and female and locality Rural Urban when moral values scores are taken as dependent variable. Total 200 high school students are selected randomly by applying simple random sampling technique from 5 government and 5 private high school located in jammu city. For assessment of moral values among high school students Moral value scale MVS developed by Dr. Alpana Sen Gupta and Prof. Arun Kumar Singh was used. Results of the study revealed that there is There is no significant difference is seen in the moral value of high school students boys girls. There is no significant difference in moral values of high school students belonging to different locality i.e. urban and rural area. NO Significant difference is seen in interaction between gender boys girls and locality urban rural when moral value is taken as dependent variable.
