Exploring the dynamics of happiness: Factors affecting happiness and strategies to enhance happiness among students
Abstract:
This research paper is an attempt to explore various dynamics of happiness. This includes a systematic analysis of various researches conducted on happiness to provide a detailed understanding of the concept of happiness. Happiness is a comprehensive and multifaceted concept which includes various dimensions like Subjective Well-being and Emotional States, Hedonic vs. Eudaimonic Happiness, Biopsychosocial Model of Happiness, Cultural and Social Influences, happiness and health, Happiness as a Public Policy Concern and the concept of Flow and Engagement. The relationship of happiness with other variables like academic achievement, environment, health, personality and social relationship has been reviewed in this paper and it has been found that all these variables are positively related and significantly contributed to happiness. Further, this paper also deals with various factors that affect the happiness like social relationship, income and economic stability, health, purpose and meaning in life and work life balance. At last, various strategies have been discussed to enhance the happiness among the students that includes building strong relationships, promoting a growth mindset, mindfulness practices, providing autonomy in learning, Incorporating Physical Activities, Offering Creative Outlets, Creating a Positive Classroom Environment, Teaching Emotional Intelligence, Setting Realistic Goals and Encouraging Gratitude Practices.
