Title of the paper : Strengthening Teacher Competencies through Professional Training

Abstract: Continuous professional development CPD is a pillar of raising the teaching quality in institutions and abreast with the fast changing educational paradigm in the world. This research paper is a multi faceted study of enhancing core teacher competencies comprising of pedagogical mastery, digital literacy, classroom management and socio emotional adaptability through systematic professional training programs. With the mixed methods research design, this paper will combine quantitative assessments of the teacher performance metrics in various institutions and qualitative data obtained during semi-structured interviews conducted with teachers and school leaders. The results show that conventional, episodic, lecture based training models have small scale effects on instructing methods on day to day basis, but lifetime, collaborative and practice oriented training models have statistically significant outcomes with regard to teacher efficacy and classroom preparation. This merging of contemporary pedagogical concepts such as the Merdeka Mengajar project underscores the need of localized, technology mediated life long learning infrastructure. Nonetheless, institutional barriers like time constraints, lack of institutional resources, and different motivation levels remain systemic barriers towards fair professional development. The paper will be concluded by data driven, actionable recommendations to policymakers and administrators to shift to job embedded mentorship and competency based evaluation matrices, creating a direct and positive relationship between ongoing development of educators and student changes in academic results.
