Title of the paper :
Locating Anthropogenic Climate Change in Alexis Wrights The Swan Book
Abstract:
The Swan Book is a compelling story about a world drastically changed by human caused climate change, set in a dystopian future. The indigenous author attempts to ponder the texts metaphorical depictions of the future catastrophe, human degradation of the natural environment, and the loss of Aboriginal rights. The current study aims to investigate the dynamics of the evolving connection between humans and nonhumans in a world where humans have been heedlessly manipulating environment for personal benefit, leading to significant changes in the planets climate and habitat loss for non-human species. It makes an effort to examine how the contemporary narratives of the Anthropocene place humans at the center of the text, with non-humans serving as the background.
