Title of the paper :
The Weight of Silence Unspoken Truth in Family Dynamics in Everything I Never Told You by Celeste NG
Abstract:
In Everything I Never Told You, Celeste Ng examines the significance of secrets and silence in a family, showing how repressed feelings and unfulfilled expectations mold peoples identities and bonds. The book explores the psychological and emotional effects of communication breakdowns, especially in the Lee family, where familial expectations, gender norms, and cultural influences foster a sense of alienation. Uncovering the conflicts that have long simmered beneath the surface is sparked by Lydias unexplained death. Ng highlights the need for open communication and comprehension in family dynamics by using contrasting viewpoints to show how silence can be just as harmful as things left unsaid.
