Title of the paper :
Invisible Survivors: The Problems Faced by Women with Disabilities in Climate Displaced Communities
Abstract:
Climate change has emerged as one of the most pressing global concerns of the twenty-first century, resulting in extensive displacement, environmental degradation, and socio economic disruption. Among the populations affected by climate induced displacement, women with disabilities remain the least visible and most vulnerable group. They encounter multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination due to their gender, disability, and socio economic status. This paper explores the structural inequalities that intensify the experiences of women with disabilities in climate displaced communities through the lenses of intersectionality, the social model of disability, and ecofeminist theory. The paper proposes a conceptual model demonstrating how gender, disability, and poverty mediate the impacts of climate displacement and argues for the urgent inclusion of women with disabilities in climate adaptation and resilience policies. Finally, it outlines inclusive policy recommendations emphasizing equitable participation, accessible infrastructure, mental health support, and community based resilience strategies to ensure that no one is left behind in the fight against climate change.
