Abstract:
The paper emphasizes the importance of recognizing and recording the economic costs of climate induced migration in India. It calls for coordinated efforts among government agencies and institutions to integrate environmental, social, and financial data, ensuring transparency, effective policymaking, and sustainable development in the face of growing climate challenges. It further suggests the creation of specialized accounts such as the Migration Cost Account MCA and Loss and Damage Account under the national accounting framework to improve transparency and policy relevance
