Title of the paper :
The Impact of climate change on water resources and water scarcity in India
Abstract:
Climate change has become a critical global issue with far reaching effects on water resources and the growing challenge of water scarcity. Rising temperatures, altered precipitation patterns, melting glaciers, and increased frequency of extreme weather events are significantly disrupting the hydrological cycle. These changes affect both the availability and quality of freshwater, leading to droughts in some regions and floods in others. As a result, many areas face heightened water stress, threatening agricultural productivity, ecosystem balance, and human livelihoods. This paper examines the relationship between climate change and water resources, highlighting the major factors contributing to water scarcity. It explores the environmental, social, and economic consequences of diminishing water availability and discusses sustainable adaptation and mitigation strategies aimed at improving water management under changing climatic conditions. Understanding these impacts is essential for policymakers, researchers, and communities to develop effective measures that ensure water security and resilience in the face of a warming world
