Title of the paper :
Voices Beyond Borders: Literature and Culture Through the Works of Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni
Abstract:
In a world connected by technology and migration, voices travel freely across borders, carrying stories that unite diverse human experiences. This paper explores how CHITRA BANERJEE DIVAKARUNI gives voice to the complexities of culture identity, belonging, and transformation in the global era. Through novels such as The Mistress of Spices, Arrange Marriage, and The Place of Illusions, Divakaruni portraits individuals especially women- who navigate between Indian traditions and western modernity. Her characters speak from the margins yet echo universally, embodying the tension and beauty of cross culture existence. The paper also reflects on how digital globalization has amplified Divakarunis literary research, allowing her themes of migration and communication to resonate worldwide. Ultimately, her works demonstrate that storytelling itself is a borderless act one that connects cultures, preserves memory, and gives humanity a shared voice in a changing world.
