Title of the paper :
The Future of Humanities in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
Abstract:
The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence AI presents both challenges and opportunities for the humanities. Traditionally concerned with culture, literature, philosophy and human experience, the humanities face questions regarding relevance, methodology, and pedagogy in an AI driven world. This paper examines the intersection between AI and humanities, considering how AI tools can transform research, teaching, and creative expression. It also addresses the ethical concerns, including biases in AI, threats to cultural interpretation, and the potential erosion of critical thinking. By analysing emerging trends, the paper argues that the humanities must adapt, integrate, and collaborate with AI technologies to ensure their continued significance in understanding human society, creativity, and ethical reasoning. To complement the theoretical insights, a research survey was conducted to examine the real world engagement of students with AI tools in academic setting. The objective was to understand their awareness, usage patterns, attitudes, and concerns regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence tools in academics.
