Title of the paper :
Literature and the Fabric of Cultural Identity Exploring the Invisible Ties that Bind Us Together
Abstract:
Cultural identity is not a fixed essence but a dynamic process shaped by history, memory, and collective imagination. Literature, as a repository of narratives, symbols, and voices, has always played a central role in shaping identity. In the twenty first century, the emergence of new literary trends ranging from postcolonial critiques to digital storytelling has expanded how individuals and communities perceive their cultural belonging. This paper examines innovative ideas in literature that contribute to the construction of cultural identity, with a focus on themes such as decolonization, migration, intersectionality, ecology, technology, transnationalism, myth, and resistance. Literature encompasses a repository of collective memory, an expression of values and beliefs, a reflector and shaper of societal norms, a tool for cultural preservation and revival, and a platform for diverse voices. Thus, literature is an integral part of the construction and reinforcement of cultural identity.
