TRIBAL STUDIES
Abstract:
Tribal Studies is chosen as a topic as India has a great many number of tribes spread across the country. Tribes are primeval or aborigines who commonly show a general ancestry, culture, tradition, language, and generally live in relatively closed, self governing societies. Hundreds and hundreds of recognized tribal groups worldwide are found each with unique culture, tradition and ways of life and almost all of them have a closer relationship with their natural environment. The known and unknown groups of tribes and their places of living, culture, tradition, habits and food and dress codes are very inquisitive and interesting. The diseases of epidemic, endemic nature, the methods of contracting the diseases, the needs of the tribals to their upliftment in their lands, living conditions, health, education, social status, women and children welfare, medical facilities need to be dealt with. The free movement of the tribes into the society, leaving their traditional beliefs, fear and habits are to be considered. Their difficulties, hurdles and shortcomings are to be understood. The developmental schemes, plans and programs must be made available to them without any obtrusion.
