Title of the paper :
Culture and Lokah Cinema: Narratives Interwoven
Abstract:
In Indian cinema scenario, Dominic Arun directed Lokah Chapter1 Chandra stands as an enlightened star rewriting the cultural vibrants of Kerala .It provides a new outlook to the age old cultural outlooks woven around the legend and myth of Kerala .This abstract examines how new mirror is placed around the cultural artifacts evolving them into a new generation model .Lokah cinema clearly portrays a new story telling tapestry with placing the age old myth as a new emerging symbol of global icon. This cinema navigates into the interplay of local traditions and globalisation, highlighting cultural shift in this post modern era. Through regional languages, rituals and costumes, the cinema high lights the modern aspects of retelling of old myths in modern outlooks to win over viewers .It also helps in enlivening this tradition ,hence providing more cultural values in modern views. Lokah besides being a blockbuster, writes down a new chapter in rewriting tradition with a bold narrative expelling ancient narratology .Myth reshapes itself into global scenario entwining past and future happening in present. This abstract tries to identify the new moulds in which cultural identities are expressed. The relatively modern ideologies of shifts on cultural icons are also focussed on.
