Title of the paper :
Generation Beta and the Future of Human Development
Abstract:
Purpose This study aims to examine how the emergence of Generation Beta, individuals born from approximately 2025 onwards, may reshape future pathways of human development in contexts increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence, digital infrastructures, climate uncertainty, and demographic change. Methodology The paper adopts a conceptual and integrative review approach, synthesizing interdisciplinary research published across developmental psychology, education, digital sociology, and AI ethics. Findings The analysis indicates that AI embedded environments may enhance cognitive development through personalized learning and support health outcomes via intelligent monitoring systems. However, significant developmental risks are identified, including cognitive over-reliance on technology, weakened social engagement, algorithmic bias, and the potential intensification of social inequalities. Implications The findings highlight the need to expand traditional human development frameworks and inform child-centred policy design, ethical AI governance, and inclusive educational strategies. Originality This study offers an early, integrative conceptualization of Generation Beta, contributing a forwardlooking perspective to human development research in the AI era.
