Title of the paper :
Digitalization and Financial Inclusion of Indian Enterprises: Dynamics, Evidence, and Policy Pathways
Abstract:
Purpose This study examines the role of digitalization in advancing financial inclusion among Indian enterprises, with a particular focus on small and medium enterprises SMEs. It seeks to understand how digital payment systems, fintech innovations, and digital public infrastructure have reshaped enterprise access to formal financial services in recent years. Methodology The study adopts a descriptive and analytical approach by synthesizing empirical evidence, peer reviewed literature, and policy documents published. Secondary data sources are systematically reviewed to assess patterns of digital adoption and inclusion outcomes. Findings The analysis reveals that digital tools, especially the Unified Payments Interface UPI, mobile banking, and fin-tech platforms, have significantly improved SMEs access to finance, reduced transaction costs, and enhanced operational efficiency and resilience. However, disparities in digital literacy and infrastructure continue to limit inclusive outcomes. Implications The findings highlight the need for targeted policy interventions focusing on digital skills, infrastructure development, and secure fin-tech ecosystems to deepen enterprise financial inclusion. Originality The study offers an integrated and up to date synthesis of post 2020 evidence on digitalization and enterprise financial inclusion in the Indian context.
