Title of the paper :
Happiness Levels among Urban and Rural Male and Female College Students
Abstract:
Happiness among college students is an important contributor of well being and mental health especially during their undergraduate years that are considered particularly formative. The present study examines the differences in happiness levels among urban and rural students, and male and female students. Purposive sampling was used and 60 participants were selected 15 urban males, 15 rural males, 15 urban females and 15 rural females aged between 17 to 22 years. The Oxford Happiness Questionnaire was used to assess the levels of happiness. The research design was cross sectional and comparative and focused on the gender and regional differences in happiness levels. For the statistical analysis, Mean, Standard Deviation and t test were used. This study aims to understand the gender and regional differences in happiness in the Indian context and offer insights to educators and policymakers to create positive environments in higher education and provide a foundation for future researchers.
