The Efficacy of Positive Psychotherapy on Levels of Anxiety, Depression, and Stress among I.T. Professionals Suffering from Metabolic Syndrome
Abstract:
Information Technology I.T. professionals frequently suffer from Metabolic Syndrome MetS exacerbated by high-stress work environments. This study evaluated the efficacy of Positive Psychotherapy PPT on the psychological distress of 60 I.T. professionals with MetS. Using a randomized controlled trial design, the experimental group n=30 underwent an 8-week PPT intervention, while the control group n=30 received standard lifestyle advice. Results demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in Depression, Anxiety, and Stress scores within the experimental group p < .001, while the control group showed no significant change. The findings suggest that PPT is a highly effective non-pharmacological intervention for reducing the psychological burden associated with metabolic disorders in the tech industry.
