Title of the paper :
Impact of AI Assisted Digital Tools on English Reading Skills: A Review Analysis
Abstract:
The emergence of Artificial Intelligence has swiftly transformed English language learning by introducing personalized, adaptive, and interactive digital tools designed to assist reading skills development. The present review combines empirical studies and systematic reviews on the impact of AI supported digital tools on English reading skills. It concentrates on comprehension, vocabulary development, motivation, and learner autonomy. Results from experimental and quasi experimental studies shows that AI assisted reading platforms, and intelligent tutoring systems have the potential to improve reading comprehension and sub skills compared with traditional mode of instruction. The present study also highlights limitations such as over dependency on AI assisted digital tools, ethical concerns, and digital divide. The review concludes that digital tools assisted by Artificial Intelligence are operative when rooted with pedagogies that focus on development of critical thinking, ethical usage, and displays the gaps for future research in under represented contexts and higher order literacy skills Tessensohn, Yunus, Ismail, 2025
