Title of the paper :
Digital Transformation in Sports and Physical Education: Pathways to a Healthy and Viksit Bharat
Abstract:
India is undergoing a rapid transformation driven by technological advancement and socio economic development. However, this progress is accompanied by a rising burden of non communicable diseases NCDs, physical inactivity, and lifestyle related health challenges. Despite initiatives such as Digital India and Fit India, national survey data indicate increasing prevalence of obesity, diabetes, and sedentary behaviour across age groups. This paper examines the role of digital transformation in sports, physical education, and public health using secondary data from NFHS 5, WHO, and peer reviewed studies. Adopting a descriptive and analytical approach, the study explores age wise health patterns, healthcare access, and the potential of digital technologies in promoting preventive health. The findings highlight the urgent need for policy integration, compulsory physical education, and development of open fitness infrastructure. The study concludes that a holistic strategy combining digital innovation, education reform, and public health policy is essential to achieve the vision of a healthy and developed nation Viksit Bharat by 2047.
