Title of the paper : Digital Health Ecosystem in India: Telemedicine, Data Protection, and Accessibility

Abstract: The rapid expansion of Indias digital health ecosystem marks a transformative shift in the delivery of healthcare services, driven by technological innovation and policy initiatives under the Digital India framework. Telemedicine, as a central pillar of this transformation, has significantly enhanced healthcare accessibility, particularly in underserved and rural regions. However, this digital transition raises critical legal, ethical, and infrastructural concerns that demand careful examination. This paper explores the intersection of telemedicine, data protection, and accessibility within Indias evolving digital health landscape. It critically analyses the regulatory framework governing telemedicine, including the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020, and examines the implications of the Digital Personal Data Protection regime on sensitive health data. The study highlights the risks associated with data breaches, lack of informed consent, and the absence of robust enforcement mechanisms, which may undermine patient trust and confidentiality.
