Title of the paper : BRIDGING THE GAP: A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF E-GOVERNANCE AWARENESS AND DIGITAL SERVICE ADOPTION IN RURAL AND URBAN HOUSEHOLDS OF KOTTAYAM

Abstract: For the attainment of Viksit Bharat, it is necessary to integrate digital public services into the lives of citizens. While the implementation of digital public services in Kerala is considered a success, there remains a disparity in usage, adoption, and awareness between rural and urban areas. This study conducts a comparative analysis of households in the urban areas like Pala town, Kottayam town and rural areas like Teekoy Village, Thalanad Village of the Kottayam district to evaluate the effectiveness of egovernance initiatives. Utilizing both primary and secondary data, the research aims to analyze the usage of digital platforms such as eDistrict Kerala, DigiLocker, and online banking services. Through this study, the barriers hindering the inclusive growth of digital governance can be identified, providing insights into how bridging the digital divide can lead to more equitable and efficient public service delivery.
