Title of the paper : Digital Transformation as a Catalyst for Educational Reform in India

Abstract: The study examines the role of technology in enhancing quality education and career oriented digital skills across Indian tertiary institutions. The study used a secondary method of data collection. Secondary data was analysed quantitatively using the descriptive method. Three variables were considered in the study internet access, ICT expenditure in education, and digital learning enrolment. The findings reveal a significant positive relationship between technology adoption and skills building in Indian tertiary institutions. More internet accessibility, along with new education tools and software, has increased access to educational materials and capacity building across Indian tertiary institutions. However, limited internet access especially in rural areas, infrastructural gap, and limited teacher training to boost technology literacy in classrooms hinders maximum benefit, especially in the rural communities. The study concludes that enhancing education through technology will equip students with in demand technological skills in the labour market, more so in this flattening world with the outsourcing of technological skills. The study, therefore, recommends government investment in technological tools and platforms necessary for skill building in education, teacher capacity building, and design policies that enable skill transfer through internship across India.
