Title of the paper :
Narrating Tradition through Artificial Intelligence: Sustaining Indigenous Knowledge in the Digital Age
Abstract:
The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence AI has created new possibilities for preserving and disseminating indigenous knowledge through innovative narrative practices. This paper examines how AI driven technologies, including digital storytelling, natural language processing, and interactive archives, can contribute to documenting oral traditions, indigenous languages, ecological wisdom, folklore, and cultural memory. While AI offers effective tools for sustaining endangered knowledge systems in the digital age, it also raises critical questions concerning authenticity, cultural ownership, and representation. Adopting a digital humanities perspective, the study argues that AI should serve as a collaborative narrative medium that supports rather than replaces indigenous voices and community participation. By integrating technological innovation with ethical and culturally sensitive practices, AI can enhance intergenerational knowledge transmission and strengthen the visibility of indigenous heritage. This paper concludes that responsible AI assisted storytelling can play a significant role in ensuring the long term sustainability and accessibility of indigenous knowledge in an increasingly digital world.
