Tracing the Transformative Journey in Bharati Mukherjees Jasmine
Abstract:
This paper attempts to analyse Bharati Mukherjees one of the finest novels Jasmine. It explores the complex of journey of a young Indian woman. The protagonist Jasmine moves from exile to immigration, navigating personal and socio political upheavals. The novel traces her modern evolution from a village in India to a new life in the big city of America. Jasmine tackles many objectivities and search for her identity, survival, and life change. This article explores the ways in which Jasmines experiences reflect her immigrant experiences and the struggles of self reconstruction in a foreign land. Jasmines journey, highlights how exile, displacement, and the pursuit of belonging shape her character and reflect the complexities of the diasporic narrative in contemporary literature.
