Title of the paper :
Medical Humanities: A Bridge between Science and Clinical Experiences
Abstract:
Medical humanities is an interdisciplinary field which includes the humanities, social science and the arts and their application to medical education and practice. Patients are humans too, this is the core concept of medical humanities and many authors are interested in exploring the humanity of their characters, and a physical illness can be a telling symbol to signify a characters internal shortcomings. The humanization of medicine through medical humanities is aimed at achieving patient-centered medicine. In literature, authors portray the narrative about a persons experience with illness or with medical care and it is known as Pathography. Jefferson Scale of Empathy is to measure empathy in physicians and others involved in patient care in a clinical setting. Oslerian tradition is a virtuous approach to medicine and to life as taught and modeled by William Osler.
