Title of the paper :
The Changing Landscape of Literature: A Comparative Study from Ancient Texts to the Digital Age
Abstract:
The history of literature since its formation to the digital age has been marked with considerable changes in narration and conservation. This paper examines such changes both as continuity and discontinuity of storytelling, reader response, and archival work. The argument starts with the canonical works of The Iliad and The Mahabharata in oral form and continues to the contemporary digital texts. The comparison of manuscripts of ancient literature and digital works shows the differences in narration, experience, and documentation. Early texts relied on the oral tradition and the social acknowledgement however, present day digital copies incorporate multimedia and interactivity thus, reinventing the role of the reader. However, the basic purpose of literature, which is to express human mind, feelings, and moral principles, has not changed. Locating the recent changes in a larger context, therefore, proves that, regardless of the material and technological changes, the cultural value and longterm influence of literature remains unchanged.
