Title of the paper :
From Shadows to Light: Redemption Arcs in Joe Hills Horns
Abstract:
The American writer of Horror works, Joe Hill, blurred the boundaries between reality and fantasy through his writings to make the readers experience unimaginable things. His second novel, Horns, is a speculative fiction that deals with the paranormal behavior of a twentysixyearold boy, Ignatius Perrish. This paper explores the transformation of Ig Perrish, who gets animal traits and knows the true nature of anyone with touching and his deep, intrinsic, and telepathic connection with a snake. Ig Perrish abruptly notices the growth of two sensitive horns on his temples after his girlfriend Merrin Willams is raped and murdered by his childhood friend, Lee Tourneau. Psychometry is an extrasensory perception or sixth sense through touch, the person accesses their memory and darkest truth stored in their unconscious. Ig attains supernatural powers after being imbued with a spiritual connection with the treehouse of the mind. The house reverberated his need to find out the person who has murdered his sweetheart, Merrin, has permitted his power and led him to set off the devil alike. With a single touch, Ig Perrish could see the truth of the person, both the light they wear and the shadows they hide.
