Title of the paper :
Political digitalization impact on voters engagement in politics
Abstract:
The digitalization of political processes has significantly transformed voter engagement, reshaping how citizens interact with political information and participate in democratic processes. This study explores the impact of political digitalization encompassing social media, evoting, and digital campaigns on voter engagement, focusing on qualitative insights into citizens perceptions and behaviours. Using a phenomenological approach, Data was collected through semi-structured interviews ensuring varied perspectives on digital political engagement. Thematic analysis was employed to identify recurring patterns in participants experiences, emphasizing motivations, challenges, and perceived efficacy of digital platforms in fostering political involvement. Preliminary findings suggest that while digitalization enhances accessibility to political information and facilitates real time interaction, it also raises concerns over misinformation, polarization, and digital exclusion. Participants highlighted the dual role of social media in mobilizing voters while simultaneously fostering echo chambers. The study contributes to existing literature by providing nuanced, participant driven insights into the evolving dynamics of digital political engagement. It underscores the need for balanced digital policies that promote inclusivity and combat misinformation while leveraging technology to strengthen democratic participation.
