Title of the paper :
The Art of Blending Fantasy and Reality in Rebecca Rosss The Queens Rising
Abstract:
Art is always a nexus of both usual and unusual, authentic and exotic. The intersection between these two gives interest to readers. Fantasy and reality co exist in novels by portraying real life events through a magical world. Rebecca Ross, an American young adult fantasy writer creates a coherent world where fantasy and reality co exist. She includes cultures, traditions, histories and laws of both familiar and unfamiliar which mirror the socio political, historical and contemporary worlds along with her enchanting, exotic setting and elements. Her characters are realistic personalities with backstories and coexist with fantastical elements. They also follow realistic speech patterns and reactions yet create tension and intrigue. This paper analyses the art and creativity of Rosss The Queens Rising through the lens of high or epic fantasy since the novel is set in an imaginary world, the protagonist’s quest to claim something in the real world like the young adults.
