Title of the paper :
The Origins and Evolution of Communication: A Literary Reflection
Abstract:
The concept of communication, derived from the Latin communicatio meaning sharing or making common, has deep roots in human history and evolution. Communication theories have expanded our understanding of this field, exploring its foundations, definitions, and various forms. Notable scholars define communication as a process of transmitting ideas, emotions, and information, emphasizing mutual understanding. Communication is inherent in all living beings, from the biochemical signals of single celled organisms to complex human expressions. Early human communication began with sounds, tones, and visual symbols like cave paintings, gradually evolving to smoke signals, written language, and postal systems. Ancient mythology even portrays communication as a divine interaction. Advancements like the printing press, telegraph, radio, and telephone marked critical shifts in how humans connected. Each innovation from newspapers to modern digital platforms expanded the reach and impact of communication. Today, the internet and social media allow near instantaneous interaction across the globe, reshaping social and professional exchanges. The journey of communication reflects a continuous evolution, linking ancient practices with todays digital interfaces and illustrating its foundational role in human society.
