ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN EDUCATION: SUPPORTIVE TOOL OR SUBSTITUTE TEACHER
Abstract:
The process of creating a machine that can think and act like a human is known as artificial intelligence AI. Discussions concerning artificial intelligences AI potential as a replacement for human teachers as well as its role as a helpful pedagogical tool have been triggered by the technologys quick integration into educational settings. With an emphasis on its potential to improve learning outcomes while maintaining the invaluable human touch in education, this study explores the implications, advantages, and limitations of AI in the classroom. The study examines how AI contributes to resource accessibility, assessment automation, and personalized learning by utilizing recent case studies, empirical data, and theoretical frameworks from educational technology. Simultaneously, it critically examines issues like decreased teacherstudent interaction, moral dilemmas, and an excessive dependence on technology. Results indicate that although AI can greatly increase student engagement and teaching effectiveness, its best use is in conjunction with human teachers rather than in place of them. The study promotes a balanced integration model where teachers can concentrate on developing students critical thinking, creativity, and socio emotional skills while AI serves as an adaptive, datadriven assistant.
