COGNITIVE DEBT
Abstract:
Cognitive debt is the buzzing word of todays world. Artificial Intelligence is ruling the world of education and corporate sector. Automation has become inevitable in all process. Job opportunities have taken a paradigm shift from human resource to assisted automation. Due to the radical growth in the field of Artificial Intelligence, cognitive debt has become the consequence. We are aware of financial debt, Secured, unsecured debt and so on. During this Era of Artificial Intelligence, one more debt is alarming, its cognitive debt. Let us first understand the meaning of cognitive debt. It refers to the mental burden stored when individuals prioritize speed and convenience over thorough thinking and understanding. This leads to a decline in critical thinking skills and mental abilities. Its like taking out fast loan on your brains processing power, gaining shortterm efficiency at the cost of longterm cognitive health. This paper is going to help in understanding the meaning of cognitive debt, its causes and its impacts on the health of a person. As more research is yet to be done in this topic, I have done a conceptual paper with few case studies to substantiate. This would be a lead for future researchers to explore and experiment.
